Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce's Women2Women luncheon raises record funds for senior scholarships

The Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce's Women2Women luncheon at Oceanside Country Club on March 13 raised over $3,700 for its Rob Ridder Scholarship.

The chamber reported this is the most amount ever raised through ticket sales. The scholarship, established in 2014,  supports local high school seniors whose parents or legal guardians are a member of the Chamber of Commerce and plan to attend college in the fall. The chamber

distributes several $1,000 scholarships a year. 

The event's guest speaker was Volusia County Schools Superintendent Carmen Balgobin. The luncheon's presenting sponsor was AdventHealth. 

The Women2Women luncheon is held twice a year: in the spring and fall. It's designed as a networking event for professional women. 


Foundation Risk Partners appoints new counsel

Foundation Risk Partners recently appointed Robert Lloyd as its new senior deputy general counsel.

Lloyd brings over 27 years of experience to the role, with a background in law, insurance, enterprise risk management, compliance, crisis management and governance. 

“Foundation Risk Partners has experienced rocket growth during the past several years, driven by the expertise, commitment and passion of our team,” FRP's Chief Legal Officer Tom Leek said. “We’re excited to welcome another talented attorney, and longtime friend, to our legal team. Daytona entrepreneur is Miss Daytona Beach Florida Corporate America

Local entrepreneur Phebe D. Fuqua was recently crowned Miss Daytona Beach Florida Corporate America 2026. 

Fuqua competed in the Miss Florida Corporate America competition, where she was honored with the Miss Congeniality award. As president and CEO of Elite Eagle Developments, Fuqua has

dedicated her career to redevelopment strategy, economic development and community transformation, according to a press release. She has helped administer and support initiatives connected to more than $20 million in public and private investments.

Her platform for 2026 is centered on “Revitalizing Communities by Restoring People.”

“Revitalization is not just about rebuilding structures — it’s about restoring people, strengthening businesses, and creating opportunities that allow communities to thrive,” Fuqua said. “When individuals are empowered and connected with the right resources, transformation begins.”

Throughout her reign, Fuqua plans to lead initiatives that support:

  • youth STEM and aviation development programs
  • leadership and mentorship opportunities for youth and women
  • small business networking and economic empowerment initiatives
  • community revitalization partnerships
  • health awareness advocacy for Multiple Sclerosis and cancer survivorship
