Tomoka Elementary's gifted students, from kindergarten to second grade, brought historical figures, notable Florida icons and national landmarks to life during the school's Living Museum.
Held on Monday, March 9, parents, fellow students and teachers were invited to the school to tour the museum, where students dressed up as part of their project and presented facts about their selected topic or person. Kindergartners researched symbols of America and Florida, first graders researched influential African Americans and second graders researched and wrote biographies about famous Americans.
Presentations included Rosa Parks, Babe Ruth, Abraham Lincoln, Henry Ford and Susan B. Anthony, as well the Florida orange, the Statue of Liberty and the space shuttle.
