A 57-year-old Wisconsin woman died after being thrown from a motorcycle in a crash at High Bridge Road and Walter Boardman Lane in Ormond Beach on Thursday, March 5.

Florida Highway Patrol reported that the woman was a passenger in a motorcycle driven by a 64-year-old man, who failed to negotiate a curve in the road and entered into the eastbound path of a truck hauling a trailer. The motorcycle crashed into the trailer, causing the occupants — both from New Berlin, Wisconsin — to be ejected.

The man was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. Neither he nor the woman, who died at the scene, was wearing a helmet.

The truck was driven by a 65-year-old Palm Coast man, FHP reports he initially was not aware the motorcycle had crashed into his trailer. He was uninjured.
