The Flagler Palm Coast High School Student Government Association recently traveled to the Florida Association of Student Councils State Conference at Dr. Joaquin Garcia High School in West Palm Beach, where members showcased their leadership skills, earned top honors and secured a major opportunity for the program's future.
FPC’s SGA members presented seven student-led workshops for peers from across Florida. The sessions focused on such topics as innovative school projects, time management strategies, parliamentary procedure and the courage required to step outside one’s comfort zone in leadership.
FPC once again earned a gold rating in the Medallion Council Book competition, which evaluates a comprehensive portfolio of projects completed throughout the school year. FPC’s parliamentary procedure team captured first place for the second consecutive year. The award-winning team included Caleb Hart, Ava Pascale, Valentina Cannesa and Lennix Sackman-Ruggiero.
FPC also submitted 10 projects for state-level judging. Five placed among the top three:
The conference also highlighted student talent and leadership beyond competitions. Caleb Flinn performed “Santa Fe” during the talent show. Ava Pascale and Sofia Fretterd delivered speeches and were inducted as co-treasurers for the Florida Executive Board. They will serve on the state board in the upcoming year, representing FPC and student leaders statewide.
In another exciting announcement, FPC’s SGA was selected to host the 2027 FASC State Conference. The theme for the event will be “The Heart of Leadership.”
