SIDELINES: Golf, skate fundraisers; surfing workshops

PIRATE PRIDE GOLF CLASSIC

The Pirate Pride Booster Club, supporting the Matanzas High School football program, is hosting the 2026 Pirate Pride Golf Classic on Sunday, Aug. 2, at The Conservatory Course in Palm Coast.

The event will begin with a putting contest and coffee/breakfast station, followed by golf. Walk off the course into the clubhouse for lunch, catered by Hammock Beach, with prizes and a silent auction. The winning team will be awarded a foursome at The Ocean Course at Hammock Beach. An Ocean Course foursome will also be included among the items in the auction.

ASTRO SKATE TEAM FUNDRAISER

Astro Skate of Ormond Beach is having a fundraiser for four inline speed skaters — Isabella, 7; Violet, 10; Myla, 10; and Zayvian, 7 — who will be competing at the USA Roller Sports National Championships July 7-15 at Speedway Sports Complex in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The fundraiser is 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 19, at Astro Skate of Ormond Beach. Admission is $10 per person, which includes regular skate rental. All proceeds go to Team Astro Skaters heading to nationals.


SUMMER SURF WORKSHOPS

Philosurfers Summer Surf Workshops for ages 7-17 are offered Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to noon on Flagler Beach. The workshops, curated by former pro surfer Will Tant, leader of the Tommy Tant Memorial Surf Classic, combine elite surf coaching with daily conversations on character development.
