Both of Flagler Palm Coast’s boys soccer teams won games (7-1 and 5-4) on Thursday, July 2, in the high school 7v7 summer soccer league at the Indian Trails Sports Complex. Matanzas’ boys teams and FPC’s girls teams were also in action.
First Baptist Christian Academy girls defeated FPC’s JV 4-3. The Bulldogs’ JV girls then joined with the varsity for an intrasquad game after the varsity team received a forfeit. The league continues through the end of July with games scheduled on Friday nights.

Flagler Palm Coast state champs Jordan Haymon and Will Roberts will continue their track and field careers at Lake-Sumter State College in Leesburg. They were joined at FPC’s summer signing day ceremony on June 25 by teammate Rhett Opalewski who signed with NCAA Division I Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Haymon and Roberts helped FPC win the Class 4A state championship in the 4x400-meter boys relay. The other members of the championship team were Logan Jacobelli and Mikey Najpaver.
Haymon also placed second at state in the 400 meters. Earlier in the season, he broke the Bulldogs’ school record in the 400 with a time of 46.88 seconds. He also ran the third-fastest 200 in school history with a time of. 21.39 seconds.
Roberts won the district championship in the 400 meters and won district and region titles, along with the state title, in the 4x400.
Opalewski finished second at the district championship in the 800 meters and advanced to state in the 4x800 relay.
The Bulldogs had a total of 27 athletes in 2025-26 sign with colleges to continue their athletic careers.
The Palm Coast Big Buoys, of the summer collegiate wood-bat Orange State League, fell to 4-7 on the season with home losses to the St. Augustine Sardines (16-2 on July 1) and the Cocoa Tailgators (11-1 on July 2).
The Big Buoys’ home games against the New Smyrna Beach Gnarlies on July 5 and the Sardines on July 6 were rained out. They are scheduled to be back at home at the Indian Trails Sports Complex on July 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14 and 15. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. on weekdays and 5 p.m. on weekends.
Flagler Palm Coast graduate Connor May went 2 for 2 in the loss to the Sardines on July 1. FPC grads Brenin Striplin and Logan Shudy each scored a run.
FPC grad Adam Kleinfelder pitched 4.2 innings against the Tailgators on July 2. Matanzas grad Nolan Schmidt finished the game, allowing an unearned run in a third of an inning. Danny Scullion scored the Big Buoys’ only run on an error after reaching on a walk, taking second on a passed ball and stealing third base. Tailgators pitcher Dwayne Moore was nearly unhittable, allowing just three hits and 0 earned runs in five innings.
Junior golf camps at Cypress Knoll Golf and Country Club are scheduled for July 22-24 and Aug. 5-7.
The camps, for ages 11-16, will be led by PGA Life Member Jim Powers. Instruction will focus on full‑swing fundamentals, short‑game technique, putting skills and confidence‑building practice routines. All campers must bring their own clubs.
