Battery touch. An 18-year-old Ormond Beach man was arrested after he threw a basketball and a 20-pound boulder at his father after he interrupted an argument with his 11-year-old brother.
When police arrived at the scene, the father and younger son were in the driveway. The reporting officer noted he could see a large boulder sitting next to a gallon of milk, which was busted open and leaking all over the driveway, according to the report. The father told the officer that, around noon, his 18-year-old son was cursing at the 11-year-old. When the father told his son to walk away to cool off, his son threw a basketball at him, hitting him in the stomach. Because his son walked away, the father said he didn't press the issue.
Later, however, after the father returned home with his other children from the grocery store, his 18-year-old son approached him and threw the boulder. The father used the gallon of milk to block the boulder from hitting him in the face.
The father was able to show police video surveillance footage from the incident, corroborating his story.
The following day, the 18-year-old was arrested at a a coffee shop chain store for theft.

Disturbance. Police responded to a local sports bar after a 35-year-old Ormond Beach man accused employees of "jumping" him for not paying his tab, though the man said he had paid.
According to an incident report, the reporting officer encountered the man outside of the bar, who said he had been thrown out of the door, causing him to fall and cut his face. He declined medical attention and after he was read his Miranda Rights, declined to speak with officers further.
Officers then spoke with the employee the man claimed accused him of not paying is tab. She told police that the man had taken cigarettes from her boyfriend, and when asked to give them back, the man declined to do so. She told him to leave the bar, and after he walked outside, reopened the door. She tried to keep it closed, according to the incident report, as the man tried to keep it open.
Since this occurred more than once, other employees became involved and pushed him out, causing his fall.
The bar owner and involved employees didn't want to pursue charges; they just wanted the man trespassed. Police issued the man a trespass warning and he left.
