1:36 p.m. — 5300 John Anderson Highway, Flagler Beach
Domestic battery. A 24-year-old Flagler Beach man was arrested for instigating a fight with his adult brother.
The fight broke out between the two brothers over the suspect yelling at their sister. The sister had walked over freshly laid tile floors in the bathroom. The victim intervened, telling the suspect to calm down, which instead made the suspect more upset, according to an arrest report.
The father got between the two, but the fight still turned physical after the suspect kicked in his brother’s bedroom door. The victim told officers he attempted to restrain his brother because there were firearms in the room, and that is when the suspect pushed the victim onto the bed and the two began fighting until the father managed to separate them.
The suspect told police multiple times that he had intentionally instigated and escalated the fight, with the intention of calling police on his brother, the report said.
Instead, accounts from the suspect’s brother, father and sister, as well as his own admissions, led to police arresting the suspect. They told police officers that the suspect was unstable
He was taken to the county jail on a battery charge.
9:32 a.m. — U.S. Highway 1 and Seminole Woods Boulevard, Palm Coast
Drug possession, driving without a license. A traffic stop led to an Orlando man being arrested after his coworker brought marijuana and meth into the car.
Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped the man’s SUV because the tint was darker than the allowed limit. While inspecting the tint, a deputy smelled marijuana from inside the SUV and conducted a search while the four occupants were removed.
Around 7 grams of marijuana was found in a bag near the front, passenger-side floorboard.
The driver admitted to never having a driver’s license and said he was not legally in the United States, the report said. He told deputies that he and the occupants were in Palm Coast for work.
Both the driver and his front seat passenger were arrested, the driver for driving without a license and the passenger on drug possession charges. At the jail, deputies found meth in the passenger’s phone case.
