The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit and SWAT team served a narcotics-related search warrant at 2480 County Road 304 in Bunnell in the early morning of Jan. 16, shutting down a drug house and making one arrest.
The search warrant was the culmination of a three-month investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics from the residence — a travel trailer parked on the property — after it was placed on the Sheriff’s High-Interest Target list due to a series of tips from nearby residents reporting suspicious activity.
During the search warrant, SIU detectives located and seized methamphetamine, narcotics paraphernalia, and a handgun and ammunition.
“We received a lot of complaints about drug activity coming out of this trailer, so we put a stop to it and put this poison peddler in jail following an early morning wake up call,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “If you believe there is drug activity in your neighborhood, let us know. We take all tips seriously and want to clean up your neighborhood too. Warning — drug dealers beware: We’re coming for you and your drug house, or, in this case, drug trailer, next.”
Detectives arrested Jeremy Wells, 31, of Bunnell, for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held without bond.
Wells is a known offender, with previous arrests for possession of fentanyl, possession of cocaine, driving while license suspended, and violation of probation.
