Interfaith conference to be held on Jan. 24

An upcoming conference presented by the Interfaith and Community Resource Network will focus on human trafficking and domestic violence.

The conference will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, in the community center of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 201 University Blvd., Daytona Beach. A meet and greet will begin at 9:30 a.m. The theme of the conference is "What You Need to Know."

"Separating facts from fiction about human trafficking and domestic violence can be a first step toward helping those in the community who are affected by these crimes," a press release by the IC Resource Network said. "Up-to-date information and advice for addressing these problems will be presented by law enforcement officers, victims’ advocates and survivors during the winter Sharing Conference presented by the Interfaith and Community Resource Network."

The IC Resource Network's seasonal conferences are geared toward helping service providers and people of faith in and around Volusia County learn from one another and identify opportunities for collaboration. Network leaders encourage houses of worship, nonprofit organizations and government agencies to send participants.

The conference is free and open to all. Light refreshments will be served. The conference will include information tables staffed by nonprofit organizations and opportunities for networking. For more information, including details for organizations interested in having a free table at the event, contact Sue Odena at 407-760-2304 or email [email protected].
