The Peabody Auditorium Foundation's Young Audience Series is presenting TheaterWorksUSA's family musical, "The Pout Pout Fish," at the News-Journal Center at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24.

The musical features puppets and live performers in an oceanic adventure, according to a press release. The story follows Mr. Fish who sets out on a quest to find Miss Clam’s missing pearl, and discovers there is more to him than his permanently plastered pout. The musical is recommended for children 3 years old and up, and is an adaptation of a book series. Tickets cost $25 per person.

Kathy Berman, executive director of the PAF is “delighted we are now into the fifth year of offering this level of theater to children and families, and are so glad we can bring it to Daytona Beach," she said in the press release.

President Rene Bell Adams agreed.

“We are so very grateful to our sponsors and our board of directors for supporting our Young Audience Series. It is truly a gift to bring affordable, educational and exciting theatrical matinees for families to enjoy," she said.

The PAF will also welcome another children's musical — "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!" — on April 18.

The mission of the PAF Young Audience Series is to provide youth and family audiences with affordable opportunities to experience engaging, educational and entertaining live cultural performances in our community that foster an appreciation of the arts.
