The Garrido Lares Family was selected as Ormond Memorial Art Museum’s featured family from the museum's Jan. 2 Free Family Art Night event.
The museum said in a statement that everyone in the family loves art and music. The family — mom Mariel, father Diego and daughter Historia — are in the process of creating an engraving exhibition. Mariel is an astrophysicist and Diego creates escape rooms.
Both came to the U.S. three years ago and their daughter Historia was born in Daytona Beach.
"Mariel and Diego say they are 90% sure Historia (1 year old) will be a future piano performer and singer," the museum statement reads.
OMAM’s Family Art Night takes place from 5:30-7 p.m. on most first Fridays of the month. All art supplies are provided. The next event will be held on Feb. 6.
