Dear Editor,
A lot of people have been hit while crossing on the way to Publix because there is no crosswalk. I’m specifically talking about the Publix in Ormond Beach on Nova Road near The Trails. Where I would like the crosswalk to be is between North Old Kings Road and The Trails Plaza.
Since there is no crosswalk, people have to take a risk when walking, leading to some accidents. There are many elderly senior citizens crossing from Avante nursing home to The Trails Plaza, and many are in wheelchairs or have walkers, so crossing for them is a big risk.
However if we make a crosswalk there, then there will be fewer or better yet, no accidents.
