Lanie Robertson’s Tony Award winning play, "Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill," returns to City Repertory Theatre for six performances Jan. 9-18.

CRT is celebrating its 15th season with a selection of favorites from the past. Laniece Rose Fagundes will once again play the role of Billie Holiday. The production is directed by CRT Artistic Director John Sbordone, with musical direction by Benjamin Beck, who also plays Holiday's piano man, Jimmy Powers.

The play not only chronicles Holiday’s great musical song book, but also her struggles with drug addiction, personal relationships and the difficulties of being a black performer in the 1950s.

Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m., Jan. 9-18. Tickets are available at crtpalmcoast.com or by calling the box office at 386-585-9415. The City Repertory Theatre is located at 160 Cypress Point Parkway, Suite B207, Palm Coast.
