Volusia County Schools reports record 73.8% College and Career Acceleration rate

The rate measures the number of graduates who earned college credit through AP, dual enrollment, AICE or IB courses, earned an industry certification, or completed a CTE program.

Volusia County Schools' College and Career Acceleration rate for the Class of 2025 reached 73.8%, a 7.1 percentage point increase over Class of 2024, the district recently announced.

The current CCA rate — which measures the number of graduates who earned college credit through AP, dual enrollment, AICE or IB courses, earned an industry certification, or completed a Career and Technical Education program — is also 9.3 percentage points higher from that of the Class of 2022. 

According to VCS:

  • Every traditional high school in the district now exceeds a 75% CCA rate.
  • Mainland High School posted the largest single-year gain of 22.4 percentage points, increasing

from 63.5% to 85.9%.

  • Pine Ridge High School improved by 15.9 percentage points, reaching 80.4%.
  • T. DeWitt Taylor Middle-High School's CCA rate rose from 43.1% for the Class of 2022 to 80.2% for the Class of 2025.
  • Deltona High School continues to have the highest CCA rate at 91.2%.
  • Atlantic High School, DeLand High School and Seabreeze High School all reported significant gains, with 10.5 percentage points, 9.8 percentage points and 9.4 percentage points, respectively.
