Senior softball association donates $1,000 to 12U Ormond Beach Spikes team

The donation will help fund the Ormond Beach Golden Spikes 12U baseball team's trip to Cooperstown this summer.

The Greater Daytona Beach Senior Softball Association has donated $1,000 to the Ormond Beach Golden Spikes 12U baseball team to help pay for its trip to Cooperstown, New York, this summer.

“Our softball association is proud to sponsor our Ormond Beach community youth organization,” said Chuck Weisman, special events director of the senior softball association.

Anyone over 60 interested in playing in the softball association’s recreation league at Strickland Field, 1698 Strickland Range Rd., Daytona Beach, can visit gdbssa.com for more information.
