Flagler County Education Foundation hosted its 22nd annual Mardi Gras Ball on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Grand Haven Golf Club.
The event was sold out, according to a press release. The ball is the primary fundraiser for Take Stock in Children and the Senior Scholarship Fund.
“We are thrilled to celebrate our 22nd year with a sold-out crowd, but the real victory is what this means for our local students,” said Teresa Rizzo, the Ed Foundation's executive director. “Grand Haven community allows us to turn a night of New Orleans-style celebration into a lasting investment for Take Stock in Children and our graduating seniors. We aren't just passing out beads tonight; we are helping pave a path to college.”
The event featured the coronation of the 2026 Mardi Gras King and Queen, Brian and Jacki Unger, as well as a performance by the Matanzas High School jazz band.
