With deep sorrow and cherished memories, the family of Mrs. Gail T. McPhail, age 74, of Monroe, Georgia and Flagler Beach, Florida, announces her passing on Friday, January 23, 2026.

Born August 7, 1951, in Atlanta, Georgia, Gail was the beloved daughter of the late Charles E. and Ilene Thomas. She spent her childhood in Milstead and Decatur, forging lifelong friendships and fond memories. Gail was a proud graduate of Gordon High School, where she developed the values and work ethic that would guide her through life.

Gail built a successful career in the banking industry, working first for Trust Company Bank and later for Sun Trust Bank. She was known by her colleagues for her dedication, professionalism, and warm spirit.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Gail’s greatest joy came from her family. She shared a loving marriage with her husband, Peter C. McPhail, whose steadfast companionship was a constant source of happiness. She is survived by her children, Christopher L. Denman (Jill) and Michelle Cronan (Richard); her treasured grandchildren, Austin, Blake, Makenize, Davis, and Sydney; and her adored great-grandchildren, Kinley, Kaylee, Kylee, and Grayson. Gail is also survived by her brother, Rodney Newcomb, and will be lovingly remembered by numerous other family members and friends.

Gail had a deep faith and was a dedicated member of Mansfield Methodist Church. She found peace and comfort in her spiritual community, and her kindness and generosity touched all who knew her. Gail loved taking walks, enjoying the simple beauty of nature, and was always happiest when surrounded by those she loved.

Gail’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and quiet strength. Her gentle presence, caring heart, and unwavering support enriched the lives of all she encountered. While her absence will be deeply felt, her memory will be cherished always.

A Celebration of Life for Gail will be at 2 o’clock Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Mansfield Methodist Church with Reverend Todd Hilton officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Mansfield Methodist Church or to a charity of your choice.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered support and comfort during this difficult time.
