The Ormond Beach Environmental Discovery Center hosted a celebration and tree giveaway in honor of Earth Day on Saturday, April 18.
About 400 trees were distributed to locals at the event, which featured a variety of booths with educational exhibits about the environment of Ormond Beach. Vendors offered native Florida plants for sale, and members of the Ormond Beach Garden Club gave away free plants to children. The celebration was sponsored by Regrow Volusia, Regrow the Loop, Volusia ECHO and the City of Ormond Beach.
In addition to the educational displays, attendees enjoyed interactive demonstrations, hands-on activities and opportunities to learn more about local conservation efforts.
