Heidi Petito to join Flagler Clerk of the Circuit Court's Office

Clerk Tom Bexley said in a statement that Petito's "experience, integrity and steady approach will be a tremendous asset" to the Clerk's Office.

Former Flagler County Administrator Heidi Petito will joining the team at the Flagler County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller. 

Petito, who's final day at the county was April 10, served as county administrator for five years. Flagler Clerk & Comptroller Tom Bexley announced in a press release Petito was joining his team late in the afternoon on April 10. 

Bexley said in a statement that Petito's "experience, integrity and steady approach will be a tremendous asset" to the Clerk's Office. Petito will assist in maintaining accountability for county resources and help "engage and build relationships throughout the county and beyond."

"Heidi Petito has been a valuable part of Flagler County for a number of years, in a number of capacities," Bexley said. "In her most recent role as county administrator for the last five years, she has done a remarkable job building consensus among the county's partners and her fiscal stewardship has the county in a better place," Bexley said.

Petito announced she was leaving the county administrator on March 3, just weeks after her deputy administrator also resigned, after several Flagler County Commissioner voted for her firing in January. Growth and Management Director Adam Mengel has been appointed the interim county administrator until a permanent replacement is found.
