When the isotopes settled at the annual Flagler Schools Fifth Grade Science Fair on Thursday, April 9, at Buddy Taylor Middle School, there would be a Panther atop the medal stand.

Margaret Reiter of Wadsworth Elementary School took first place in the district-wide competition, while two Old Kings Elementary School students took second and third place. Leon Krawczyk earned the second-place trophy and Levi Borg took third place.

Forty-eight fifth graders entered science projects in the competition. The Flagler County Education Foundation helped sponsor the event.
