Lt. Barret Manfre, son of Cornelia Downing Manfre and former Flagler County Sheriff James Manfre has graduated from the prestigious Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, on March 27.
The NPS was established in 1909 and is a Naval command with a graduate university mission offering master's and doctoral degrees in fields of study that are core to the Navy and U.S. Armed Forces.
Lt. Manfre obtained a master's degree in computer science and received the Admiral Grace Hopper Award for excellence in the field of computer science. Manfre was a 2015 graduate of Flagler Palm Coast High School. He graduated at the top of his class with an International Baccalaureate degree. He attended Duke University on a naval scholarship.
In 2019 after obtaining a degree in engineering while a member of the Naval ROTC, Barret served as a Surface Warfare Officer on the USS San Diego. He was chosen to attend the NPS in 2024.
