Volusia County Schools' Chief Technology Officer Matt Kuhn was recently named a 2026 finalist for the School Leadership Award by EdTech Digest, the school district announced on social media.

The award recognizes people for outstanding contributions in transforming education through technology, according to a press release.

"The leaders honored here are defining what comes next,” said Victor Rivero, editor-in-chief of EdTech Digest, who oversees the program. “The future of learning isn’t something we’re waiting for — it’s unfolding right now, shaped by innovators who aren’t reacting to change, but creating it across classrooms, workplaces, and beyond."

This is the 16th year of EdTech awards, a worldwide program based in the U.S.

"This recognition reflects not only exceptional leadership, but also the strength and dedication of our entire ITS Division here in Volusia County Schools," the district stated on its Facebook post. "Their work continues to support innovation, empower learning, and ensure our students and staff have the tools they need to succeed."
