March was a busy month for the Ormond-by-the-Sea Lions Club, with members participating in homeless outreach, blood sugar and vision screenings and White Cane weekend.
According to a press release, the Lions began their month by raising awareness and funds to help the visually impaired during the White Cane weekend initiative on March 6 and 7 at Publix. Fourteen members participated in two-hour shifts for the effort.

Then, Lions Jennifer Helmer and Melinda Uebel participated with 23 other Lions and graduated from the Regional Lions Leadership Institute in Fruitland Park, held March 19-22. Club Members Lion Greg Evans and Associate member Jacquie Tripp-Spencer served as instructors.
On March 21, Lion Jean Cerullo assisted at the Christine's Blankets Birthday Party for the Homeless at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. That same day, Lions Marcia Pizzimenti and Bobbie Cheh joined Lions Club members from Port Orange and South Daytona in performing 34 blood sugar screenings and 20 vision screenings at the Veterans Stand Down at the Center at Deltona.
