The City of Palm Coast is seeking its next deputy city manager.
This comes after Palm Coast Assistant City Manager Lauren Johnston accepted a position as new chief of operational services with Flagler Schools. Johnston had worked for the city for about 17 years.
“Palm Coast is truly a city on the rise,” City Manager Mike McGlothlin said in a city press release. “We are looking for a collaborative, solutions-oriented leader who is ready to make a meaningful impact. Someone who can help us continue delivering high-quality services while enhancing the lifestyle our residents value.”
According to the press release. the deputy city manager will play a critical role in aligning citywide initiatives, supporting departmental operations, and implementing strategic projects that improve efficiency and service delivery. Responsibilities include overseeing internal operations, supporting budget and policy development, collaborating with City Council and community stakeholders, and ensuring organizational goals are successfully executed.
"The ideal candidate is a strategic, innovative leader with a passion for public service, strong organizational and communication skills, and a proven ability to lead complex operations," the press release states.
Candidates should have at least seven years of executive-level experience and a background in public administration or a related field. The city of Palm Coast has over 115,000 residents.
