Seventh annual One Daytona Art Festival brings fine art to town

Palm Coast residents Scott Stafford and Craig A. Markiewicz, along with Ormond Beach resident Marc Gilmet were among the local artists to receive an award.

The seventh annual One Daytona Art Festival brought a lineup of juried fine artists and artisans to town on March 28 and 29.

The festival showcased works in a variety of mediums, including paintings, sculpture, jewelry, photography, mixed media and more. According to a press release, this year's award winners were:

Best of Show  

  • Kristin Moger, Gap, Pennsylvania — Drawings and Pastels 

Awards of Distinction  

  • Juan Carlos Cahue, Ocala, — Jewelry 
  • Jessy Crawford, DeLand — Drawings and Pastels 
  • Denise Castro, Orlando — Clay 
  • Ken Orton, Venice — Oil

“This year’s festival truly showcased the power of art to bring people together,” said Kelly Dispennette, NASCAR’s senior managing director of real estate. “From the wonderful talent of our artists to the energy of our guests and community partners, it was a great weekend for our community.”

The festival included student art displays from Daytona State College and Volusia County Schools. The festival has donated over $100,000 to both organizations since its creation.
