Flagler County Commissioner Andy Dance was recognized for his leadership and advocacy on the CareerSource Brevard Flagler Volusia Tri-County Consortium. The consortium is the official governing body responsible for oversight of CareerSource Brevard Flagler Volusia, ensuring financial accountability and compliance with federal and state workforce policies.

Dance joined the Tri-County Consortium when it was formed in 2024. Since then, he has worked closely with CareerSource leadership in the advancement of key programs and priorities, including, but not limited to: the creation and expansion of CareerSource Talent Hubs; the facilitation of strategic educational partnerships; and, federal advocacy for key workforce funding.

“The transition from a Flagler-Volusia model to a Tri-County Consortium with Brevard was not a simple expansion – it required aligning priorities, governance, and expectations across three distinct communities,” Dance said. “That kind of collaboration only works when you have strong regional partners and committed local leadership. I’m especially grateful for Flagler County’s representatives on the CareerSource Board – Erica Flores of Vincent’s Clubhouse, Renee Swaggerty of Flagler Technical College/Flagler Schools, and Joe Wright of Quantum Electrical Contractors – who play a critical role in guiding workforce development efforts and ensuring our local priorities are reflected in the work of CareerSource Brevard Flagler Volusia.”

Dance and others on the consortium “provided strategic guidance in a coordinated advocacy effort to protect federal workforce funding,” according to the news release.

“Their partnership has enabled us to maximize our support to stakeholders across the communities we serve and achieve outcomes that would not be possible without their ongoing commitment,” said Lloyd Gregg, VP, PTX-LLC Workforce Development, Chairman CSBFV Tri-County Consortium, Governor appointed Board Member of FL Workforce Credentials Select Committee.

Dance helped facilitate the upcoming expansion of CareerSource’s Talent Hub model in Flagler County, including approval of a Memorandum of Understanding with Flagler Technical College at the Carver Center, and remained actively engaged throughout the process.”
