Breeze Airways has debuted its new service from Daytona Beach to Akron-Canton, Ohio, the airline announced on Wednesday, Sept. 3

The new route will operate twice weekly, with service on Wednesdays and Sundays. Fares are starting from $54, according to a news release.

"Today’s inaugural flight from Akron/Canton is a win as the new route brings more visitors to Daytona and offers our residents another great destination to visit,” said Cyrus Callum, Volusia County director of Aviation & Economic Resources. “It opens the door for Midwest travelers to discover Daytona Beach and an airport known for short lines, close parking, and a ‘Seriously Nice’ travel experience. We’re grateful for the partnership we’ve developed with Breeze and look forward to continued growth together.”

Breeze now offers five nonstop destinations from DAB. The other four are: Westchester County, New York; Hartford, Connecticut; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; and Providence, Rhode Island.

“Breeze service in Daytona Beach launched about a year ago, and we're grateful for the reception we've received ever since,” said David Neeleman, Breeze Airways founder and CEO.
