Shelba Jean (Cabe) Holt, affectionately known as “Shelba Jean the Homecoming Queen “ passed away peacefully in Palm Coast Florida Bom on November 13,1945, Shelba brought light, laughter, and love to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

A proud graduate of West Fannin High School, Class of 1963, Shelba went on to build a remarkable career as an interior Decorator with John Weiland Homes in Atlanta, where she worked for 36 years. Her eye for beauty and her talent for transforming spaces reflected the warmth and creativity she carried in every aspect of her life.

Shelba was the heart of her family and a fierce supporter of her friends. She is survived by her daughters Christie (Chancey) Moore and Dechelle (Chancey) Lindsey, her beloved sisters Glenda Hensley and Trudy Little, her cherished grandchildren Spencer, Zach, Luke, Caleb, and Joshu4 and her devoted son-in-law Mike Moore. Her close friends Alice Mallory and Vickie Borders were among the many who knew her as a loyal confidante and source of endless laughter.

Though she never learned to swim, Shelba adored the beach and the ocean, drawn to their serenity and joy. She was famous for hosting unforgettable Christmas parties, where her warmth and humor made everyone feel at home. Her resilience shone through in her battle with breast cancer, and she became a passionate supporter of the American Cancer Society, contributing to events like the Cattle Baron’s Ball and Hope Ball.

Shelba was also a spirited sports fan cheering loudly for her beloved Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs. Her enthusiasm for racing-whether it was NASCAR Sundays or local track events-was infectious. She brought the same energy and loyalty to her teams as she did to her relationships: full-hearted and unwavering. Shelba’s legacy is one of strength, style, and spirited-generosity. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were lucky enough to be part of her life.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her spirit will continue to inspire love, laughter, and kindness in the lives of many.
