Cheryl Alda Rowland (Selstad), 78, received her promotion to glory on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in Palm Coast, Florida.
Cheryl was born in Lorain, Ohio, to Dorothy Mae and the late John Angel Selstad. As the oldest of four children, she was a loving sister to Jane Caggiano, Lynn Blodgett, and Randy Selstad.
Cheryl married James Rowland, and together they had four children: Ronni Sue Kelley, Amy Stevens, Stephen Rowland, and Sarah Lombardo. She was also a devoted stepmother to Alan Rowland, Pamela Stull, and Sherry Barton. Her family grew to include nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished.
For many years, Cheryl shared her love for children as the director of a preschool. She later dedicated twenty-nine years to her work as an administrative assistant for a building company that literally became family for her.
Cheryl’s life was defined by her faith and her unwavering love for her family. She was a woman beloved by all who knew her, never having a harsh word for anyone. She faithfully shared her gift of music as the pianist for her church for many years, with Palm Coast Bible Church being her final church home. Her impact and impression on those she met were immeasurable.
Cheryl is survived by her loving mother, Dorothy Mae Selstad; her siblings; her children and stepchildren; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and an innumerable number of loving friends. She was preceded in death by her father, John Angel Selstad.
A memorial service will be held at Palm Coast Bible Church, 94 Whiteview Parkway, Palm Coast, Florida 32164, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
