First Baptist Christian Academy, 1 Pine Lakes Parkway, Palm Coast, collected food from May 1 to May 23 to donate to the Care Cupboard Food Pantry at Bridges United Methodist Church in Bunnell.

The Pantry serves approximately 1,300 guests every Wednesday, and was in need of groceries to fill out bare shelves. The students and staff at FBCA came through in a big way.

The food drive was held as a friendly competition between the preschool, the elementary school and the high school. The winning group got cookies at the end of the drive. The theme was to "Stuff the Bus," which transported the food to the Pantry.

Here are the results: Preschool — 259.8 pounds; Elementary — 303.9 pounds; high school — 658.4 pounds for a total of 1,222.1 pounds.
