Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly had just finished his Friday night patrol on and was headed home at about 11 p.m. on June 28, when he came upon the scene of a head-on crash on Moody Boulevard in Bunnell, according to a Flagler County Sheriff's Office post on its Facebook page.

There were serious injuries, but none were life threatening, the post said. Former Bunnell Fire Chief Derek Fraser and others assisted the sheriff in rendering aid until Flagler County Fire Rescue arrived.

"FCFR did a great job stabilizing and treating the victims, who were taken to the hospital. We pray for a full recovery," the post stated.

The crash was turned over to the Bunnell Police Department for investigation with the FCSO assisting, the post stated.
