Dulce Jorge de Menezes Perez-Santiago, 77, of Palm Coast, FL passed away in Portland, CT on June 17th.
Dulce was born to Lidia Soares and Manuel Jorge de Menezes on November 3rd, 1947, in Timor Leste. She was the youngest of 10 siblings.
Dulce lived a fascinating life that took her around the world. Her family fled Timor during the civil unrest, and she ended up in Lisbon, Portugal. From Portugal, she moved to New Jersey for 25 years before settling in Palm Coast, FL. Dulce loved warm weather, spicy food, her flowers, and her family. She had a talent for picking up languages and spoke several languages fluently. She was loved by everyone who met her.
Dulce was predeceased by her parents, eight of her siblings, her first husband Angel Perez and her second husband Aderito Santiago.
Dulce is survived by her son Pedro Perez and his wife Kurri of Middletown, CT and her daughter Sol Jacome and her husband Daniel of Portugal. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: her sunshine, Hunter, her champion, Wyatt, her princess Delaney and Delfim. She will be greatly missed by her friends, sister and numerous nieces and nephews around the world.
Dulce’s family would like to thank the amazing staff at Portland Care and Rehab for their support and care and her dear friends Miggy and Ruth for their help over the last few months.
A memorial service will be planned in Palm Coast at a later day.
