Sharon Ruth Cherry, beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on July 6, 2025, in Palm Coast, Florida. She was 62 years old.

Sharon was born on August 13, 1962, in Vineyard Town, Kingston, Jamaica, to Lynden and Avis Minott. From an early age, she shone with kindness, curiosity, and a deep desire to help others. She attended St. Edwards Academy and Alpha Elementary School, and later continued her studies at Holy Trinity Secondary School, where she excelled and dreamed of a future dedicated to serving people.

In 1977, Sharon’s family migrated to the United States. She attended Morris High School in the Bronx, New York, and went on to study at Bronx Community College.

In 1982, Sharon married Lincoln Beaumont a childhood friend from Jamaica. In 1983 they welcomed their daughter LaToya into this world. They later parted ways in 1993.

Throughout her life, Sharon devoted herself to caring for others, building a diverse and meaningful career in healthcare. She worked as a Medical Assistant, then as a Phlebotomist, and later as a volunteer EMT with the Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad in Maryland, where she selflessly served her community in times of crisis. In 2021, she relocated to Florida, where she worked in a hospital laboratory, quickly becoming loved and respected by both colleagues and patients for her gentle spirit, warm smile, and unwavering dedication.

Sharon loved sports, especially football (soccer) and baseball, passions she shared with her brothers, Richard and Philip. She also enjoyed jewelry making, gardening, and the companionship of her beloved Huskies, Max and Kia.

Sharon was deeply devoted to her faith and worshiped at Calvary Assembly, Encounter Christian Center, and Parkview Church of Palm Coast. Her faith was a guiding force in her life and a source of comfort and hope to those around her.

Above all, she was a loving mother to her daughter, LaToya Beaumont. Sharon’s legacy of love, strength, and generosity lives on through her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Sharon and Robert Cherry shared a loving marriage of 25 years, marked by mutual support, faith, and countless cherished memories together.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Robert Cherry; her daughter, LaToya Beaumont; her parents, Pastor Lynden and Avis Minott; her brothers, Richard and Philip; her sisters-in-law, Denise Minott, Desiree Minott, Mary Koone, and Betty Tritt; her brothers-in-law, Jimmy Coleman and James Coleman; and her many cherished nieces and nephews: Phil Andrew Minott, Elizabeth Minott, Jeanette Coleman, Michael Coleman, Carrie McPherson, Tanya Lansfield, Steven Cherry, Nicholas Keegan, Johnathon Tritt, and Michelle Tritt; along with numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and care.

A memorial service to celebrate Sharon’s life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Encounter Christian Center, 30080 Henry Ln, Charlotte Hall, MD 21742. All who knew and loved Sharon are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the GoFundMe page established to support Sharon’s family during this time: https://gofund.me/8dbccf9b.

She will be remembered for her boundless compassion, gentle spirit, and the love she shared so freely. Her loss leaves an immeasurable void, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

May her soul rest in eternal peace
