Harvey Philips passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at the age of 75.
Born in September 1949, Harvey grew up in New York and carried the heart of a New Yorker with him wherever he went—direct, sharp, and full of character. He moved to Florida in the 1990s, eventually settling in Ormond Beach, where he spent his later years enjoying long walks on the beach and visits to his favorite local seafood restaurant.
Harvey was endlessly curious. He loved science, nature, and the thrill of learning something new. He was a fan of old radio shows and black-and-white television, especially the classics he grew up with like Abbott and Costello. In recent years, he found joy in photography, capturing moments and places that spoke to him.
Professionally, Harvey spent much of his adult life working alongside his siblings, buying, fixing, and selling homes throughout Florida. He took pride in the work and the family ties it strengthened.
Harvey was a music lover, a man of strong beliefs, and someone who wasn’t afraid to stand by them. He was a devoted father to five daughters—Rebecca, Christina, Melissa, Alexandra, and Jennifer—each a testament to his resilience, sense of humor, and heart.
He is preceded in death by his older brother, Ronny, and his longtime life partner, Michelle. He is survived by his sister, Nancy, his five daughters, and his ten grandchildren, who will carry his memory forward with love.
To honor Harvey’s love for learning, nature, and helping others, the family encourages donations to a charity of your choice in his memory.
Harvey lived a thoughtful, grounded life, filled with curiosity and quiet strength. He will be missed, remembered, and honored always.
