Charles “Duane” West, 85, of Palm Coast, Florida also known as devoted husband, loving Pop, extraordinary Pop Pop and proud Pop Pop Pop; graduate of Palm Beach High School Class of 1958 who was homecoming king, football jock, and class president; also voted most friendliest has passed peacefully leaving behind the loves of his life on July 9th, 2025.

Duane was born in West Palm Beach, Florida to William and Anna Ruth (Weddington) West on March 23, 1940. He later married the love of his life, Barbara Jenkins in 1987 where the two shared a blended adult family for over 40 years.

During his life, Duane’s passion other than family; was work and attending the annual Florida/Georgia football game with the guys and playing golf for over 35 years.

Retired from Florida Power and light after 36 years as an Engineer then later retired again as Land Acquistioner.

Duane spent time coaching little League baseball and later became little League District Commissioner for 23 years.

Predeceased by his parents, his sister, Nancy (West) Knowles and his beloved son, Gregory.

An accomplished husband, he leaves behind his loving and dedicated wife, Barbara. He also leaves behind his loving son, Mark (Trish) West; grandchildren Brandon (Becca) West, Steven West, Lauren (Ryan) Ross; as well as his great grands: Dillon, Elliott, Kendall, and Collin West and has one on the way by Lauren and Ryan Ross. He also leaves his sister Sandy (Mike) McGhee many nieces and nephews; his step children Chris (Lynn) Woods and Darrin Woods.

Knowing no strangers, Duane touched the lives of everyone he knew! Services will be held in North Carolina by family.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations and memorials be made in his honor to the Alzheimer’s Resource Council, 185 Cypress Pt Parkway, Suite 5, Palm Coast, Florida 32164
