The Flagler County Board of County Commissioners invite one and all to join them at 10 a.m. December 30 for the Grand Reopening Celebration of the Wadsworth Skate Park.

“It is exciting to see so many children fully enjoying the park on the first day it was reopened following three weeks of construction,” said BOCC Vice Chair Kim Carney on Monday. “As the District 3 representative, it was a pleasure to bring about significant upgrades and renovations.”

The park had been closed for about three weeks to allow 60% of the park equipment, such as ramps and grind rails to be replaced. Additionally, concrete repairs were made, new chain-link fence was installed, and the adjacent bathroom has been repainted.

“It’s wonderful that the soft reopening coincides with students being home from school for the holidays,” said BOCC Chair Leann Pennington. “The Skate Park means so much to the community.”

The cost of the improvements is $240,000.

Wadsworth Park is located at 2200 Moody Boulevard in Flagler Beach. The Skate Park is to the right of the driveway, and the celebration will be held there.
