According to a statement to the Observer, the Ormond Beach CAP Color Guard posted the colors for the event and the official remarks were delivered by former Ormond Beach Cadet and current United States Air Force Academy Cadet Reece Griffin.

Members of the CAP, the South Daytona Community Emergency Response Team and other volunteers then laid wreaths on the graves of veterans at the cemetery.

"The Ormond Beach Composite Squadron is profoundly honored to lead this effort at the Daytona Memorial Park, which they believe hosts the largest number of fallen veterans in Volusia County," Ormond Beach Airport Manager Steven Lichliter said in the email, on behalf of CAP.
