A Putnam inmate who stole from a Palm Coast home in April while on an inmate work crew has been sentenced to eight additional years.

Jay Working, 34, had just 14 days left on his original sentence at Putnam Correctional Institution. Working pled no contest to burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and petit theft from a Palm Coast home, a Flagler County Sheriff's Office press release said.

Circuit Judge Dawn Nichols found Working guilty and sentenced him to eight years in a Florida Department of Corrections prison, minus 217 days for time served.
