Deborah Kay Entrekin, lovingly known to all who knew her as Debbie, passed away on December 10, 2025, at 8:55 p.m. Heaven gained a new angel that evening, and those who loved her lost someone truly special.
Debbie was born on June 24, 1955, in El Paso, Texas. She was a proud graduate of Mainland High School, Class of 1973. Throughout her life, Debbie built a respected career in the banking industry, where she not only excelled professionally but also formed lifelong friendships. Known for her patience and willingness to help others, she guided many through the banking system with kindness, integrity, and care.
Debbie spent her younger years with strong family ties in DeLand, Florida, and in most recent years, made her home in Palm Coast, Florida, where she lived with her loving companion, Leo Goretti, with whom she made memories of a lifetime. Leo was her source of safety and love in the last five years of her life. He loved Debbie deeply and would do anything to ensure enjoyment of all that life had to offer. He was a very devoted companion to Debbie always being right by her side ensuring all of her needs and wishes were taken care of.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hershel P. Entrekin; her mother, Vera Kathleen Smith; and her brothers, Paul “Butch” Entrekin and Ronnie Entrekin.
Debbie is survived by her sons, Matthew, Michael, and Clifton; her daughter-in-law, Donia; and her beloved grandchildren, David, Coral, Banyan, Claudia, Chase, Clay, Nicholas, and Vincent, who were the absolute joy of her life.
Debbie found happiness in life’s simple and beautiful moments, like sunrises, sunsets, and moon rises. She loved tending to her cherished collection of orchids, spending time boating and fishing, and traveling whenever she could. She was a wonderful cook and baker, famously known for making the best “cowboy cookies” in the world. Some of her favorite moments were spent sharing wine with friends and family on back porches, laughing, telling stories, and making memories. Above all else, Debbie took immense pride in being an exceptional grandmother, and her love for her grandchildren knew no bounds.
Debbie once said, “I am so thankful for the dark times in my life because it makes the end so beautiful.”This perspective on life reflected her strength, gratitude, and ability to find beauty even in difficult moments.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with details to be shared when arrangements are finalized.
Debbie’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and genuine connection. She had a rare gift for touching hearts and leaving a lasting impression, whether she knew someone for only a few hours or for a lifetime. Her impact will continue to be felt through the many lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
