Over 100 festooned floats, sparkly vehicles, twinkling walkers and an occasional four-legged friend made their way along Yonge Street, Granada Boulevard and Beach Street at the 34th annual HOme for the HOlidays parade on Saturday, Dec. 13.
The Ormond String Orchestra performed holiday favorites before Ormond Beach Mayor Jason Leslie flipped the switch to turn on the Christmas tree lights. Master of ceremonies was Brian Nave.
Lucy Jackman, chairman of Friends of the Performing Arts Center, was grand marshal. This year, the Bowler family, owners of Daytona Beverage, entered the Budweiser Clydesdales who complemented this year’s “A Country Christmas” theme. They were winners of the Ormond Beach MainStreet Ryke Undermark President’s Cup.
Abaco Windows transported Santa and Mrs. Claus while hosting the faith-based group Redeemed who performed on a mobile barn-styled stage. They were the winners of the Dilys Harris Best of Show award, created this year in memory of Harris who was a judge for over 20 years.
“She deserved it,” Gage Harris said about his grandmother.
