11:09 p.m. — 100 block of East Granada Boulevard, Ormond Beach
Larceny. Police arrested a 49-year-old Ormond Beach man who stole a tablet from a local restaurant.
The restaurant manager told officers that they refused to serve the man alcohol when he arrived, but that they offered him a cheesecake instead. The man then fell asleep on the cheesecake, according to the report, and was asked to leave. As he left, the manager noticed the tablet was missing from the table and she called 911.
The man was seen getting into an SUV, suspected to be an Uber. Police found him in the backseat of the vehicle after a traffic stop, and he was in possession of a six-pack of beer and the tablet. He was taken to jail.
7:14 p.m. — 200 block of South Yonge Street, Ormond Beach
Battery on a law enforcement officer. A 57-year-old Port Orange man chest bumped a local police officer after he was told to get out of a road median during the city's Christmas parade.
According to an incident report, the median was closed due to the parade. The man refused to move when asked and started yelling at the officer before chest-bumping him. The man then began to walk away, but he was apprehended by the officer who put him on the ground face down.
He was taken to jail.
