Fourth grade students from Pathways, Tomoka and Pine Trail elementary schools recently participated in Junior Achievement's JA BizTown program.
The program allowed students to participate in a simulated town, a hands-on learning experience that combined in-class instruction on financial literacy, according to Volusia County Schools. Students served in occupations like mayor, CEOs, animal adoption counselors and waste management.
"Our students didn’t just imagine their future, they stepped right into it," VCS wrote on its Facebook page. "By learning teamwork, money skills, and what it takes to keep a community running, students can see their own potential in new and exciting ways!"
