The Palm Coast Elks Lodge #2709 veterans committee donated $2,500 from its fundraising efforts to Teens-In-Flight, Inc., a local nonprofit.

Teens-In-Flight provides aviation training to teens from military and first responder families, as well as at-risk or financially underserved youth. Founded by Col. Jack Howell, a retired U.S. Corps naval aviator, the program grew from his understanding of the unique challenges faced by military children and their families.

Many of the graduates go on to successful careers in the military, as first responders or in commercial aviation.
