Flagler County and the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has settled on the design for the renaming of the Flagler County Operations Center after Sheriff Rick Staly.

The Operations Center was renamed the Sheriff Rick Staly Law Enforcement Center in honor of Staly’s celebration of 50 years in law enforcement and his seven-year service as Flagler sheriff. While the official renaming was approved at the Oct. 20 Flagler County Commission meeting, the signage for the new name still had to be designed and ordered.

The new name will be placed directly underneath the main FCSO Operations Center signage, in smaller font, at the front of the building in a matching green color. FCSO Chief of Staff Mark Strobridge brought in the option for the Flagler County Commission’s approval at the Dec. 1 meeting.

The signage is not coming at the cost of the taxpayers, Strobridge said.
