The Salty Mermaid Art Gallery and Studio in Ormond-by-the-Sea celebrated its sixth anniversary with a holiday party on Nov. 15.
Located at 1546 Ocean Shore Blvd., the art gallery boutique was opened in 2019 by Penny Schumate. In addition to art, The Salty Mermaid sells jewelry, furniture and home decor. Over 70 artists are represented inside.
The recent anniversary holiday party featured entertainment by organist Wendy Burke, a live painting demonstration by artist Linda Olsen and free food and drinks. Helpers also dressed as elves, in line with the theme.
In a Facebook post, Schumate thanked all those who stopped by to celebrate the sixth anniversary of her business.
"We are sincerely grateful for every person who stopped in, shopped local, created art, shared a hug, grabbed a treat, or simply came to celebrate with us," she wrote. "This beautiful turnout was a true reminder of the love and community that surrounds The Salty Mermaid Art Gallery & Studio."
