Little Notes & Narratives

Where: Ormond Memorial Art Museum, 78 E. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach

Details: This program, offered in partnership with the Early Learning Coalition of Flagler & Volusia, is designed for ages 3 to 5 and nurtures creativity, rhythm, and a love for music. Atlantic Federation Republican Women meeting, featuring Randy Fine

When: 11:30 a.m.

Where: The Palmetto Club, 1000 S. Beach St., Daytona Beach

Recipes and Reads Culinary Lab: Basic Cooking — Spice Lab: Vanilla

Details: Learn all about vanilla and its uses in this cooking demonstration, presented by library staff. Free event.

Palm Coast Concert Series

Details: See the Southern Rock Revival band perform. There will be live music, food trucks, vendors, yard games, and beer and wine. Bring a chair.

Jimmy Buffett Day of Service

When: 8-10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 29 and 30

Where: Veterans Park, 105 S. 2nd St., Flagler Beach

Details: Honor the life of Jimmy Buffett while helping to keep the beach clean. There will be coffee and donuts each day at 7:30 a.m. at the lobby of the Compass Hotel, 111 S. Daytona Ave. Presented by Keep Flagler Beach Beautiful and Compass by Margaritaville.

Saturday, Aug. 30

18th annual Angel Flight poker run

When: 9 a.m.

Where: Beaver Bar, 1105 U.S. 1, Ormond Beach

Details: Support Angel Flight, which provides transportation to medical facilities, supplies for disaster relief and family reunification, during this poker run.. There will be barbecue, a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle. Starts at the Beaver Bar and with the final stop an party at 1405 Saloon in Bunnell. Visit angelflightse.org to pre-register.

Low-cost pet shot clinic

When: 9:30-11 a.m

Where: First Baptist Church Bunnell, 2301 Commerce Parkway, Bunnell

Details: Get your pet vaccinated at a lower cost. Rabies shots will cost $5 for 1-year vaccinations. Other shots offered include dog distemper/parvo combo, dog flu, cat distemper combo, feline leukemia and more. Heartworm prevention and flea control products will be available for purchase. Overdose awareness walk

When: 5:15 p.m.

Where:  Wadsworth Park, 2200 Moody Blvd., Flagler Beach

Details: The Flagler County Drug Court Foundation is acknowledging International Overdose Awareness Day with a walk over the bridge, starting at Wadsworth Park to Veterans Park. If you aren't able to walk, join in for some fellowship at 6:15 p.m. at Veterans Park.

From Grief to Grace: A Mother's Mission to End Violence

When: 11 a.m. to noon

Where: St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 5400 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast

Details: St. Thomas Episcopal Church is hosting Carmen Gray, mother of Curtis Gray, a local star athlete who died in 2019, just six weeks before his high school graduation. Gray is the founder of Long Live Curtis, Rise Above Violence Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to violence prevention. Free event. Open to the public. 

Ormond Art Walk

Where: Ormond Beach MainStreet Arts District, 128 W. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach

Details: Join Ocean Art Gallery, Frame of Mind, Art Spotlight, The Studio by Artist Angel Lowden, the Ormond Memorial Art Museum and more on the first Saturday of each month for art openings and art events.

Third annual Casino Night

Details: The Flagler Woman's Club invites the community to attend its third annual Casino Night. Admission costs $85 and includes appetizers, raffle tickets and $5,000 in chips for casino games. There will be live music by Frank Braccia.

Pancake breakfast

Where: St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church social hall, 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd., Ormond Beach

Details: The Knights of Columbus Council 13018 is sponsoring a pancake breakfast. The OneBlood Big Red Bus will be onsite to accept blood donations, and all donors will receive a free pass to the breakfast to enjoy scrambled eggs, sausage, and all the pancakes you can eat, along with coffee and orange juice. OneBlood will also offer a free gift and a $20 eGift card in addition to a complimentary wellness checkup. Breakfast for non-donors costs $6, and kids under 12 eat free.

'El Tercer Espacio — The Third Space' solo exhibit opening reception
