Palm Coast man sentenced to 14 years in state prison in child sex offense case

David Chenowith, 33, was facing 34 child sex offense charges, according to his original arrest records. He will serve his time in state prison.

A Palm Coast man has been sentenced to 14 years in a state prison after accepting a plea deal for multiple child-sex offense charges.

David Chenowith, 33, was originally arrested on 32 child sex offense charges, according to his original arrest records, including sexual activity with a minor, lewd and lascivious battery and promoting sexual performance of a minor and promoting sexual performance of a minor. As part of his plea deal, Chenowith has a time-served credit of 398 days and cannot have any contact with the victim or the victim's family, a Flagler County Sheriff's Office press release said.

Chenowith is being held at the Flagler County jail until he is transferred to the Florida Department of Corrections. He will have to register as a sexual predator when he finishes his prison sentence and will be on sex offender probation for 20 years.
