Palm Coast motorcycle rider killed in crash on U.S. 1 at intersection of Whiteview Parkway

The rider, traveling north on U.S. 1, hit a sedan that turned into his lane of traffic.

A 35-year-old Palm Coast man was killed on Friday night, Aug. 15, when his motorcycle hit a sedan turning into his traffic lane on U.S. 1 at the intersection of Whiteview Parkway.

The motorcycle rider was traveling northbound in the inside lane on U.S. 1 approaching the intersection when the sedan traveling south on U.S. 1 approached the intersection in the left turn lane and turned into the northbound lanes, according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release.

The motorcycle struck the right side of the sedan causing the rider to be ejected from the motorcycle, according to the release. The rider was wearing a helmet, the release stated.

The 38-year-old driver of the sedan and his 73-year-old passenger — both Palm Coast residents — suffered minor injuries, the release said.

The incident occurred at 8:27 p.m., according to the release.
