The Margarita Society of Volusia County recently presented three local nonprofits with $1,500 donations during its Christmas in July celebration.

The recipients were the Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia Counties, the Jewish Federation of Volusia and Flagler Counties and the FUTURES Foundation for Volusia County Schools.

The contributions, totaling $4,500, came from additional proceeds collected from the Tree Sponsorship platform from last year’s annual Margarita Ball, according to a press release. The Margarita Ball raises funds to support local organizations that make a direct impact on children, families and the community.

“This event is a wonderful reminder that the spirit of giving doesn’t just happen once a year,” said Erin O’Quinn, director of the Margarita Society of Volusia. “Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and supporters, we’re able to extend the impact of the Margarita Ball and provide meaningful support to organizations that are shaping brighter futures in Volusia and Flagler Counties.”

The next annual Margarita Ball will be held in November at the Ocean Center.
